All About Gibson Guitars
Orville Gibson founder of the Gibson Mandolin-Guitar Manufacturing Company Ltd first made his mandolin invention in Kalamazoo, Michigan. From this invention he started manufacturing mandolins with better sounds until he was able to establish the company in 1902.
Gibson Company became a manufacturer of both guitars and mandolin and soon became the top producer of archtop guitars like the L-5 model in particular. New innovations keep adding up, in 1936 their first 'Electric Spanish" model called the ES-150 was introduced. This model was recognized as the first commercially profitable electric guitar. From January 1986, Gibson Guitar, under the management and ownership of Henry E. Juszkiewicz, David H. Berryman, and Gary A. Zebrowski moved on to its continued existence and success.
Internationally known, there are different branches all over the world such as Australia, New Zealand, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, UK, and other European countries. In line with this accomplishment, the company has a wide variety of instruments in its production family.
Aside from guitars and mandolins, they also manufacture banjos, dobros, amplifiers and processors, drums, pianos, juke boxes, band instruments, and other accessories.
Gibson Guitar had manufactured a wide selection of their guitar instruments being the primary marketed device. For the electric guitars, they have the Les Paul, SG, ES, Archtop, Explorer, Flying V, Firebird, Melody Marker, and Bass which are categories for their body style.
