New Ipod Speaker Reviews

By Michael Marrow

The world of portable music has come a long way since the 1980s. This was when there was the Walkman revolution. This era saw the portable cassette player which enabled them to carry their cassettes anywhere. Sony was the main player in those days although other electronics manufacturers also followed suit. The Walkman made it possible for joggers, travelers and just about anyone who wanted to carry their music with them to do exactly that. Newer innovations phased out the Walkman and the Discman replaced it as the portable player of choice. It became popular because of the CD quality sound it afforded.

The Discman soon took the place of the Walkman. It gained substantial popularity because it provided high quality CD music. The shift from cassettes to CDs was made possible by the two electronics giants- Sony and Philips. However though the CDs revolutionized the music world, some blips were identified in them by music gizmo makers- like the 50s, 60s and 70s vinyl records they were not scratch and destruction resistant.

CDs had a limited life. They could afford only a maximum of 10,000 plays during their lifetime. They would also get easily destroyed by acute temperatures; if you leave them in a hot car they would get damaged. Carrying several CDs at a time was especially burdensome. Apple's iPod was invented to solve all these problems inherent in CDs.

The iPod is a musical gadget like no other. It boasts a high-capacity and can therefore store hundreds of CDs in a tiny space! This was welcomed by music enthusiasts because it meant no longer traveling with large CD carriers and cases and one could not easily download music directly from legal music sites such as iTunes onto the iPod and store thousands of songs in perfect digital format.

The arrival of the iPod has also created a flourishing market for ipod concomitant accessories especially the wireless iPod outdoor speakers. Generally you find people preferring private listening of the iPod using headsets. However wireless iPod speakers prove to be beneficial when you are in the company of a group where using private headsets would be offensive.

There are many outdoor speaker brands that are in the market right now. One of the industry leaders in this department is Logitech. Logitech has been making computer speakers and accessories for a while now and for an around $100-$200 you can get some quality IPod speakers.

Another firm is Altec Lansing. This has become renowned for making quality studio speakers and car stereo equipment. A pair of good iPod Altec Lansing speakers will cost you somewhere around $150.00. This is a reasonable price. If you want to upgrade then the InMotion i600 and the Pure-Fi Dream are the answer. These however are costly, running about $200.00 or more a pierce.

In case you are willing to shell out more currency for your iPod outdoor speakers, then you can lay your hands on the Chestnut Hill Sound George. These speakers possess extremely high audio quality and are hence quite expensive-they cost around 500 dollars or even more. However they give you value for money. The Chestnut Hill Sound iPod speakers are ideal for you if you want superb quality sound, but you'll have to only take out around 200 dollars or so for that excellent piece. - 18758
