The Ultimate Xbox 360 Accessories!

By Larry Moon

When you first purchase your Xbox 360 console, everything you require it included in the package, such as, a controller, cables, and etcetera. Of course this means you can go right ahead and start gaming without any delays. Of course, if you were fortunate enough to purchase the Xbox 360 Elite, then you were no doubt even more thrilled because it would have come with a few extras, such as some great games. All you needed was a TV, and of course, if you have an HDTV then your gaining experience will be that much more pleasurable.

While a TV is essential, it's certainly not the only accessory you'll need in order to take your gaming experience to the next level, because there are also many other Xbox 360 accessories available. While some accessories have been designed to expand the Xbox 360's capabilities, others have been designed to improve the gaming experience in general. You should however bear in mind that certain accessories are manufactured by third party companies and as a result, some of them may not perform as you would expect them to. You may however wish to consider those which are mentioned in this article.

The Xbox 360 comes with only one wireless controller no matter what edition you get. This means that for you to play cooperative or competitive games on a single system, you will need to get additional controllers. Whether they are wired or wireless, the Xbox 360 can only handle up to 4 controllers, so be sure you get as much as you need.

Of course, as you can well imagine, it's always better to purchase the original controllers which are available in either black or white. Being original controllers, they've been designed with quality in mind and even more important, they're also compatible with Microsoft Windows computers.

While the controllers are able to operate the Xbox 360 interface completely, you can be rest assured that your life will be much easier if you get the universal media remote, particularly if you use your Xbox 360 as a digital media system on a frequent basis. Furthermore, not only can the remote operate several TV's but it can also be used for any computers which are powered by Windows Media Center. In fact, because it has all the regular buttons, the remote can also be used for playing games.

With so many people using their Xbox 360 for online gaming, it only stands to reason than many of these gamers also like to chat. As a result Microsoft went ahead and launched the Xbox 360 Messenger kit alongside the ever popular Windows Live Messenger. Microsoft also took into consideration that not everyone has a USB keyboard, or if they do, they may not have sufficient space to set it up and in order to get around this problem, they included a handy feature known as "ChatPad", which coincidentally is also ideal for quick messaging.

Additionally, the kit includes a wired headset which connects directly to Chatpad in order to allow voice chat during play. For those who don't require the Chatpad, a wireless headset is available.

Over and above the accessories mentioned in this article, there are many others available via the Xbox 360 website. For your own sake, only purchase accessories which are genuine, and which are licensed by Microsoft. - 18758
