The Epiphone Supernova Guitar
Nothing shouts rock n roll much more than a guitar that covets the guitar players signature and brand name of one of the biggest bands or artist. Custom unique signature models are a very important part of any guitar makers product selection and provides credibility and influence from the famous musicians of now and yesteryear that play and recommend their instruments. It is also part of the overall marketing strategy of the company - but it is a very good way of selling more instruments.
Manufactured in Korea, the Epiphone Supernova guitar is the signature guitar from Noel Gallagher from the band Oasis - the largest, most influential, controversial and greatest rock group of the previous 20 years. Noel is the brains behind Oasis, whist his brother Liam Gallagher is the larger than life lead singer, always in the eye of the paparazzi and famous for his loud and brash manner, being rude and general OTT rock star credentials. Oasis are most well known for classic songs such as Wonderwall and Shakermaker and their brand of brit-pop and rock stands the ravages of time and is quite influential to todays upcoming stars. Although they are more chilled out now and not as quite as popular as they used to be, Oasis are still producing great albums under the leadership of Noel - who has said he plans to release a solo album in the future.
The 95' Epiphone Supernova is a custom made designed version of the Sheraton guitar, another of Epiphone's more popular guitars. However, the Supernova you and I can purchase today is not the same version as the type used by Gallagher though. During the promotion of the best selling album, Whats The Story Morning Glory, Noel and the band were filmed and pictured using a unique Epiphone Sheraton painted with the British Union Jack flag. Designed to copy that guitar, the commercial version of this model features a a different shape, style and a few minor amendments such as featuring different models of pickups, Alnico 57s as opposed to mini humbucker pickups which can be found in the original. The originating instrument played by Noel now hangs in the O2 arena in the UK as part of the British Music Experience.
The %KEYWORD1% is no longer manufactured but was designed in various different colors including the famous signature union jack model designed by Noel. The others were sky blue to represent the Manchester City soccer team that the band champions, Cherry Red and a limited edition Ebony Black version. The guitar features big parallelogram fret markers, a slim and long scale neck, a rose wood fretboard, an old style vintage tremelo, a laminated body which allows it to be easy to wear and easier to play. The pickguard has Noel's signature on and has the Epiphone brand image.
The %KEYWORD1% produces warm sounds that are suitable for rock or blues. Although it sounds quite a bit like a more pricy Gibson guitar, the %KEYWORD1% will deliver the sound you want. The manufacturing quality is also excellent and should be without major issues or defects.
