The Educators: A verbose and overlong, sarcastic investigation of partisan idealism and hypocrisy in current Germany. A set of boisterous youthful liberals (Briihl, Erceg) see themelves as 21st-century Robin Hoods, which gives them a reprieve to crack into the houses of the internet-heeled Problems surface while Erceg's lady friend (Jentsch) partakes in one of their adventures. The Hi-Lo Country: Tale of 2 men in post-WW2 New Mexico who fall in love with the identical lady and she's already married to someone else. A tribute to the dude way of life and the delights of real kinship, this film has so much going for it (containing Harrelson's wonderful behavior as a hell-raiser and Oliver Stapleton's cinematography) that it's a pity it doesn't hit the bull's-eye and Arquette is so boring. Cast includes Woody Harrelson, Billy Crudup, Patricia Arquette, Sam Elliott, Cole Hauser, Penelope Cruz, Darren Caves, Jacob Vargas, James Gammon, Lane Smith, and Katy Jurado. (114 minutes, 1998)
The Cheyenne Communal Club: Jimmy inherits and runs a bawdy home in the Old West. The film has lots of chuckles, although stereotypes are thick throughout the film. Cast includes Henry Fonda, James Stewart, Shirley Jones, Sue Ane Langdon, and Elaine Devry. (1003minutes, 1970)
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: A typical venture spectacle has Ford in fine form and Connery amalgamating panache as Indy's archaeologist dad, whose bizarre disappearance (when looking for the Holy Grail) sets the tale in motion. This intentionally old fashioned Saturday matinee has everything money might purchase, however on no account seriously creates a sense of marvel and enthusiasm. A certain advancement over the second Indiana Jones episode it still bears the mark of one too numerous trips to the well. Down to Earth: A would be standup comedian is taken to heaven before his time, and then returned to life in the body of a cruel baron.
