The Big Town: A rural city crapshooter with a "brilliant arm" comes to Chicago in the 1950s to become a big gambler, however still has a lot to learn. With that cast (and Lane as a stripper) it's simple to watch although just as simple to forget. Cast includes Matt Dillon, Diane Lane, Tommy Lee Jones, Tom Skerritt, Lee Grant, Bruce Dem, Suzy Amis, David Marshall Grant, Lolita David (Davidovich), Cherty Jones, Gary Farmer, and Sarab Polley. Rent-a-Kid: While the head of an orphanage takes a holiday, dad Nielsen takes over with a plan to raise money by renting out kids. While unsurprising, this stupid premise is surprisingly effective. Eventually 3 youngsters are rented by a hip '90s couple considering adopting. A respectable family flick. Cast includes Leslie Nielsen, Christopher Lloyd, Matt McCoy, Sherry Miller, and Amos Crawley. (89 minutes, 1995)

Sudan: Monarch Montez flees wicked prime-minister Zucco with help of Chamber and Bey in vibrant however vacant venture-romance. Montez and Chamber's last pairing. Cast includes Maria Montez, Jon Chamber, Turhan Bey, Andy Devine, George Zucco, and Robert Warwick. (76 minutes, 1945)

The Kingdom: The terrorism story is reinvented as an action film. It is a blood-pumping tale of an elite FBI team that voyages surreptitiously to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to examine a massive explosion at a U.S. living area. Cast includes Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, Chris Cooper, Jason Bateman, Ashraf Barhom, Ali Suliman, Jeremy Piven, Danny Huston, Richard Jenkins, Frances Fisher, Anna Deavere Smith, and Tim McGraw. The Clown: Emotional redo of The Winner in regards to a cleaned-up, self-hating comic with a committed child who looks out for him. Skelton's good in a rare dramatic role. Considine is so excellent he defeats some of the hokiness of script. Charles Bronson has a tiny role in dice game scene. Cast includes Red Skelton, Tim Considine, Jane Greer, Loring Smith, and Philip Ober. (91 minutes, 1953)

Rock My World: This is a pretty good comedy set in England (however shot and funded in Canada) that went directly to video in the U.S. although is far more involving than its theatrical destiny could show. We see an aristocratic British couple lease their mansion to a rock band and end up posing as the butler and chef while the misfit team ultimately shows up. Observing the interplay create between these extremely variant generations and lifestyles is fun and the music is surprisingly catchy. Cast includes Peter O'Toole, Joan Plowright, Alicia Silverstone, Jairnz Woolvett, Keram Malicki-Sanchez, Christopher Bolton, and Lochlyn Munro. (106 minutes, 2002)

Rambo: Much better than part II, this one continues to be firmly footed in the genre of mindless Action films, as our brawny idol goes behind Russian battle lines in Afghanistan to save his buddy from a prison fortress. You will see lots of eruptions to keep the action going and some funny stuff thrown in too. Cast includes Sylvester Stallone, Richard Crenna, Marc de Jonge, Kurtwood Smith, Spiros Focas, and Sasson Gabai. (101 minutes, 1988)

Day Watch: Weak, perplexing, and endless continuation to Night Watch in which the powers of the "light" and the "dark" are at it once more. After being framed, Anton (Khabensky) tries to spare himself and his child from wicked powers in post-apocalyptic Russia. Cast includes Konstantin Khabensky, Mariya poroshina, Vladimir Menshov, Galina Tyunina, and Viktor Verzhbitsky. (132 minutes, 2006)

No Man of Her Own: Turgid drama based on Cornell Woolrich story of Stanwyck presuming another's identity, later being blackmailed by ex-boyfriend. Cast includes Barbara Stanwyck, John Lund, Jane Cowl, Phyllis Thaxter, and Richard Denning. (98 minutes, 1950)
