Eight Uncommonly Fantastic Flicks For Your Amusement Fun

By Leopoldo Zimmerman

Americans have long had a love affair with their actors, and of course, we all adore movies too. There have been a few movies that have become classics, as much for the stars as for the film. While any lists of the "greatest" will always miss someone's favorite, here are a few movies starring some magnificent stars.

Hootenanny Hoot is a timeless film from the year 1973. Unsurprising comedy about college hootenanny show carried to TV is made endurable only by presence of Money and other nation/people actors. This is one of Sam Katzman's "characteristic" low-budget films. Cast includes Gene Nelson, Peter Breck, Joby Baker, Rita Lee, Pam Austin, Johnny Money, Sheb Wooley, The Brothers 4, and Judy Henske.

The real McCoy Internal Affairs. Youthful police officer Raymond Avila works in the Internal Affairs Department of the LAPD. He and his colleague observe something suspicious with Dennis Peck. His economic situation is much stronger than expected on a police officer's salary. When Peck is attentive of the investigation, he turns his attention away from his dishonest dealings to concentrate on Avila.

Sugar Town was a memorable film from the year 1999. Amusing variety of LA life characterizing a handful of characters whose lives come together - a musician hopeful who'll do anything to get ahead, an uptight lone lady who allures the wrong men like a magnet, and a band made up of cleaned-up '80s rock megastars, to name a few. Made on a shoestring, although intelligent and well recognized; superb cast contains a number of real life musicians. Cast includes Ally Sheedy, Rosanna Arquette, John Taylor, Jade Gordon, Michael Des Barres, Lucinda Jenney, and Martin Kemp.

Everyone's all-time beloved Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Here is a romantic comedy set in a stunning resort in Hawaii. After being dumped by his girlfriend Sarah, he at last decides to go to Hawaii to get over the loss. Unfortunately, when he goes to check in at the resort, the first person he sees is Sarah, and of course her new boyfriend.

The Ploughman's Lunch, Difficult, cynical condemnation of British behaviors, ethics and affairs of state, focusing on the maneuvers of entirely egocentric journalist (Pryce) and others throughout the Falklands battle. The motion picture is somewhat perceptive, within the restraints of its outlook. Cast includes Jonathan Pryce, Tim Curry, Rosemary Harris, Blunt Finlay, and Charlie Dore.

Basic is a timeless film from the year 1995. While things go awry throughout an armed forces work out, base captain Daly brings in Travolta, the best interrogator he ever had, to query the surviving members of the squad, whose stories do not add up. Actually a whodunit, this film keeps us guessing, as a good conspiracy should. Cast includes John Travolta, Connie Nielsen, Samuel L. Jackson, Giovanni Ribisi, Tim Daly, Roselyn Sanchez, and Harry Connick.

Fade-In is a odd little flick made concurrently with Blue, in reference to love event between film editor Loden and guy she meets when performing on site. Not very great, however an absolute curiosity on no account discharged theatrically. Cast includes Burt Reynolds, Barbara Loden, Noam Pitlik, Patricia Casey, James Hampton, and Joseph Perry.

The first from 2003 "Finding Nemo". Delightfully made cartoon children's adventure film. Nemo is a adolescent blowfish that has been scooped out of the sea by a diver. His dad Martin is besieged with guilt, and will swim the distance end to end of the sea to find his young son. His voyage takes him on an astonishing adventure with his newfound friend Dory, a blue tang, that in time sees him reunited with his only son.

You now have a to the point list of some of the greatest motion pictures. Of course, there is more because we will always have a love affair with our films. - 18758
