Six Reviews Of Famous Movies For Your Pleasure

By Katheryn Becker

Some of the greatest motion pictures of all time are the "oldies but goodies". If you would like to watch a wonderful movie tonight, here is some information on some of the best movies you may have never heard of. Check them out. Remember you can download them nearly immediately to your own computer in the comfort of your own home.

The Net - Angela Bennett is a computer geek. She gets a program, and is asked to de-bug it. Shortly after receiving the program, the man who sent it to her is murdered. What is on the disc is of critical magnitude to someone. They know she has it, and she is now running for her life as she tries to figure out just who is after her, and why.

The Leading Man - British backstage show romance in regards to an American film megastar who seduces a playwright's depressed wife and his leading-woman mistress. When it might not make up its mind whether it is a comedy tirade or a light thriller, it is still very hilarious stuff. Bon Jovi is excellent as the foolhardy, unscrupulous Yankee, and Galiena and Newton are attractive as the females trapped in his web. Cast includes Jon Bon Jovi, Anna Galiena, Lambert Wilson, Thandie Newton, Barry Humphries, and David Warner. (100 minutes, 1997)

No Man of Her Own - Pretentious production based on Cornell Woolrich storyline of Helen Ferguson (Stanwyck) assuming another's identity and becoming part of a fmaily. Later in the movie she is being blackmailed by her ex-boyfriend. Cast includes Barbara Stanwyck, John Lund, Jane Cowl, Phyllis Thaxter, and Richard Denning. (98 minutes, 1950)

After Life - This is a beautifully crafted narrative of case workers at a train station between the heavens who aid the recently departed to settle on a lone moment from their pasts to live within forever. This is a serene, poetic assessment of life, death, and memory, filled with soft humor and blessedly free of some feel-good platitudes. Cast includes Aarata, Erika Oda, Susuma Terajirna, Taketoshi Naito, Kyoko Kagawa, Kei Tani, Takashi Naito, and Yusuke lseya. (118 minutes, 1998)

On Guard - A devoted swordsman saves a child princess from the evil grasp of her nasty enemy. The toddler's dad was also the swordsman's guru. A deliciously old-styled popcorn motion picture that is full of action and set in the France of Louis XIV. Cast includes Daniel Auteuil, Fabrice Luchini, Vincent Perez, Marie Gillain, Yann Collette, Didier Pang, and Philippe Noiret. (128 minutes, 1997)

They Only Kill Their Masters - Extraordinary group of actors in difficult modem-night whodunit set in coastal California town; tries for Daniel Hammett sensation, does not relatively make it. Police officer Garner attempts to resolve massacre of pregnant woman, with fearsome Doberman pinscher figuring significantly. Not poor, but a disappointment. Cast includes James Garner, Katharine Ross, Hal Holbrook, Harry Guardino, June Allyson, Peter Lawford, and Ann Rutherford. (97 minutes, 1972)

When you hit upon a couple of good websites that you are interested in buying downloads from, consider what type of arrangement you would like to have.
