Boston Green Day Concert Tickets

By Drew Jones

Not only has Green Day managed to stay together as a band and continue to pump out their catchy flavor of punk rock, but they've achieved a level of cult status rarely seen for punk bands. From their roots as a local California band with a small following, they've become a mega band playing the globe and probably the most influential punk band in existence over the past two decades.

Original formed under the name Sweet Children in 1987, the played local shows in California, immersing themselves in the punk scene before signing with Lookout! Records. Their first EP, titles "1,000 Hours" was released by Lookout!. They also decided to start appearing under the new name, Green Day to create separation between themselves and another band with a similar name to Sweet Children. Now, Green Day has released eight studio albums and sold over twenty-two million records, just in the United States.

The trio that makes up Green Day include front man Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool. Three guys who started out together with big dreams, the same dreams as thousands of small bands that star every year, but Green Day managed to find success and spread their music to a huge fan base. Now they are another band with longevity that young musicians can emulate.

The 2009 Green Day concert tour, which is their first tour in three years, includes international dates. The tour leads off with, appropriately enough, a show in Seattle on July 3 before heading all over the globe in promotion of their latest album, "21st Century Breakdown". The album already has five hit singles and has sold more than twelve million copies.

Despite their roots in an alternative genre, Green Day has taken their catchy brand of punk to the masses, and along the way, achieved iconic status. Now Green Day is one of the established bands of the last two decades, a far cry from being a small band trying to make it in California.

Green Day will play at the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston, MA on July 20, 2009. The show starts at 7:30 PM. Tickets are priced at $25 - $50 and can be purchased at the TD Banknorth Garden Box Office or at TicketZinger.com. Doors will open at 6:30 PM. This show is all ages. - 18758

Black Eyed Peas The E.N.D. CD:Just The Beginning

By Patrick Daniels

Although the latest, and fifth, Black Eyed Peas album released has been receiving mixed review, I truly feel it is their greatest collaborative work to date. The disappointment has been coming from a few fans that have grown away from the music of the BEP's and others that have heard Fergie on her own and prefer it that way.

Although the new album has a similar sound, as all the rest, it is the familiar sound that fans have loves about the Blacked Eyed Peas from the start. This album offers new dance tracks and lyrics that can go from bizarre to moving.

This studio album is entitled The E.N.D. and which stands for the Energy Never Dies. With 15 tracks on this new release album, the band goes from hip-hop sounding to booty shaking. The heavy beat sound of this latest album provides more party tunes then any album in the past. It makes you want to dance, even those who don't like to will be tapping their feet and wishing they had the nerve to get out on the floor.

With so many great tracks on this album, there are sure to many top 40 hits just in time for the summer party season. You will most likely hear these songs while laying on your beach blanket, at the local pool or blaring from the car next to you at a stop light. If you have heard their first album release single Boom Boom Pow, you have only heard a sampling of what the album has to offer.

It is difficult to believe that anyway could think this group is going anywhere but up, especially with all there enthusiasm and energy. With a funky sound, influences by music from past and today, keeps the band fresh and fans constantly wanting more. This album is everything a true fan of the Black Eye Peas would expect and more. - 18758

Purchasing Quality DJ Equipment

By Irvin G. Santos

Maybe you have always dreamed of becoming a DJ or maybe this is a decision that you have come to after realizing the money that can be made from it. Either way, when you start to look around for DJ equipment, you want to make sure that you are getting the most for your money without spending too much. You want to save money on the purchase of the equipment but you have to make sure that it is quality equipment so that you have a chance at getting more jobs and more money.

If you are just getting started and do not have all of the money in the world, you will probably want to take a look at some used DJ equipment. The new equipment is of course very nice but it will be extremely expensive and most likely out of your price range. Starting off with some gently used DJ equipment is nothing to be embarrassed about. Once you start making some good money with your new skill you will be able to upgrade into some newer and more high tech equipment.

By shopping for the gently used and cheaper equipment you will be making sure that you are not wasting money in case the DJ career does not work out for you. Instead of being out thousands of dollars you would only be out hundreds of dollars. And even then, you would probably want to sell your equipment to gain back some of the money you put into it. Hopefully though your investment will pay off.

To get started on purchasing gently used DJ equipment you will want to start looking online. There are many places online that could have DJ equipment for sale. Online classifieds are the best place to start. Within these ads you will most likely find some people who tried their hand at the career and found that they just did not have the skill or the business mentality to make it work. You can take advantage of their misfortune by purchasing their used DJ equipment.

Of course, to save the most time and money you will want to try to find someone that is local to deal with. DJ equipment can be a little on the heavy side. If you have to pay postage fees to get the equipment shipped to you, there is an extra financial obligation that you are going to have to calculate in. But if you happen to find someone that is selling great equipment for dirt cheap, it may be worth it to pay for the shipping of the equipment.

In the end, you will probably feel best by finding someone that is local and can meet you in person. By meeting the seller in person you should be able to test out the equipment. This will allow you the opportunity to test everything before you spend all of your hard earned cash so that you are not finding yourself scammed.

So when it comes to purchasing your DJ equipment you want to make sure that you are not spending too much money and that you are giving yourself the opportunity to test the equipment beforehand. It also is a good idea to make sure that the seller can give some sort of written warranty of at least thirty days. If they cannot promise that the equipment will work for at least thirty days then you will want to purchase from someone else. - 18758

Taylor Swift's Love Story - A Music Review Creates an Anthem For Young Love With Love Story

By Stevie Clark

Taylor Swift, despite her young age, has proven herself in the music scene as a talented singer/songwriter. In such a short span of time, she was able to gain the respect and praise not only of her fans but by her peers in the music industry as well. As a matter of fact, she managed to bag the Album of the Year award at the most recent Academy of Country Music Awards.

When she entered the music scene, she already showed great potential. Taylor Swift was a talented young artist who writes her own songs and plays her guitar well. She is a certified country music artist. She proved this point once again when she made Love Story, the first single from her second album, a hit.

The song is taken from her latest album, Fearless. It tells the story of a forbidden love from two young teenagers. In the song, Juliet, the narrator, begs her Romeo not to leave her and take her somewhere they can be alone. She wants to get away from people who disapproves of her love for Romeo.

Juliet tells how she met Romeo for the first time and fell in love with him. Because her daddy doesn't want her to be with Romeo, she sneaks out to the garden to meet with Romeo.

Juliet is pained with the people around her who keep on telling her what to feel. But her love for Romeo is steadfast so she remains hopeful that she will be with her man. But eventually, she starts to lose faith because she got tired of waiting.

The allusion to the classic Shakespearian play was a wise choice for the singer/songwriter. It gave the words to her song something tangible for the audience. While there is nothing wrong about singing about your love story, it would be nice to have something that your audience will be able to relate to. Obviously, the targeted audience here is young girls-girls who may not have experienced the kind of love the story is conveyed in the song. By using the characters of Romeo and Juliet as references, the audience will be able to relate better.

In this case, it doesn't really matter if you understand and relate to the song well. What matters is that you take the song as a whole. The sing is great; that is an undeniable fact. Good writing combined with great melody and interpretation.

Love Story is one great song. It was written and interpreted very well. Good writing combined with great music and excellent interpretation. Nothing else needs to be said. Taylor Swift creates a love anthem with this one. - 18758

How To Play The Guitar - A Step By Step Approach To How To Play The Guitar

By Daniel Strongly

Radiohead has a song entitled "Anybody Can Play Guitar," and in fact this is true. You or anybody else can most likely pick up a few chords and scales, and with a little discipline you'll be playing songs and jamming with friends. To really understand guitar, however, takes commitment. This is an intro for beginner guitarists.

Make no mistake: playing guitar can be painful at first. Ten and a half years ago when I started playing, the tips of my fingers got so wore out it drew blood. Most guitarists report the same thing. Soreness is an issue too. You have to strengthen the muscles in your hands; until you do, they'll ache.

Practicing as often as possible will get calluses on your fingers and a pump on your hand muscles. When you get over this hump, you'll already be decent at navigating the fretboard; you may already know or have written some songs. I'm not particularly gifted, but I could play within six weeks. Many learn even faster.

During these weeks, master tuning your guitar and the strings. Learn the most useful scales shapes. Start with the pentatonic, then the major and scales. You'll be getting those muscles and calluses while learning how the notes on the fretboard relate. You'll see the guitar in a new way, and you'll get the most useful music theory.

Alongside these scales, also learn the chords. You should know the open chords, and the major, minor and dominant seventh shapes all over the fretboard. Get to where you can change chords smoothly. I was frustrated with all that when I started, but push through and you'll have it down in two or three weeks, tops.

When you get to this point, learn a few songs. You will be able to easily play a twelve-bar blues pattern; there are a million songs in this vein. Learn the chord changes to your favorite songs, and use either your ear or transcriptions to learn all the notes your favorite guitarists are playing on them.

This will teach you the basics of how songs are built and written using the songs most important to you. Guitars aren't playthings: they are machines used to express emotion and artistry. Go from playing your favorite songs composed by strangers to trying your hand at writing something these and other strangers might love too.

Mastering guitar is a magical discipline. You subdue your pain, willing your flesh to change. You learn shapes and series of notes to perform other people's songs. With this you gain the power to speak the only universal language: music. Mystery lies this way, and as soon as you set off, you're almost there. - 18758
