Memorabilia: How much is too much to Spend?

By Mark Turgeon

If you have spent your life trying to find that perfect, exact item that will complete your memorabilia collection, there might not be a price on your success. However, unless you're a millionaire, you might not be able to afford a priceless endeavor such as this.

Fortunately for you, there is a whole new niche for those collectors who want to sell their stuff, but don't have to charge top dollar at various trade shows and through other methods of advertising. Welcome to the internet age, where anything you could fathom is bought and sold online daily.

Having a hobby brings great enjoyment to ones soul, but when you start to spend money that you dont have, to buy that particular memorabilia piece and risk putting your financials in jeopardy, the hobby becomes unhealthy.

One way to build a healthy collection of memorabilia is to start small, and with what you can afford. If you want to spend $20 on that autographed CD, go ahead. Just don't spend money that you need on something that you want.

It does not matter how much of a fan you are towards that celebrity, sports figure, or rock star and risk your financial securities for that particular memorabilia collectible. You can find plenty affordable small end memorabilia collectibles online, especially websites such as eBay and Craigslist.

An example of small end memorabilia items include posters, photographs, and books compared to higher end items such as guitars, baseball bats, and jerseys. No matter what you are looking for Google and Yahoo will help you narrow down your searches through the online community.

How you find and purchase these items is up to you. There are plenty of sites for dealers and specialized brokers, where you can find guaranteed legitimate items, but you'll pay for the extra advantage of working with dealer or broker. Another great place to check is eBay and other auction sites, where you can find just about any memorabilia you desire.

Authentic memorabilia dealers do exist, but there are only a few for each niche in the autograph industry. Dont be afraid to ask these dealers questions and to verify the authenticity of the item. Collecting memorabilia is a great way to share your passion as long as you can afford it. - 18758

Buying Really Cheap Ipod Deals

By Billy Ray

The finer things in life are experienced with the right kind of music in the background but if you use a CD player, wouldn't it be a hassle to tug along a bag full of CDs? It would be better for you to purchase an Apple iPod cheap than your typical 24 song expensive CD set could handle.

The technological breakthroughs that the Apple iPod has brought to the music industry may be seen on a sour note. You see, since the emergence of these gadgets, more and more consumers have shunned the CD stores and has opted for free music downloaded through the internet.

Wouldn't it be nicer for you to relieve some cramped up room full of CDs and just transfer them to your Apple iPod? Since iPods needs the iTunes application, you can dump all your songs and convert them to the much accepted Mp3 format.

Ask any music enthusiast if their lives have dramatically changed since the dawning of the Apple iPods and they will gladly answer you with a teary-eyed yes. These gadgets come in different volume sizes from 1GB or around 240 songs to as much as 120GB or 28,800 songs the least.

This wonderful gadget not only allows you to listen to a multitude of songs but allows you to relax, watch a movie in the comfort of your home or practically anywhere. Apple iPod, cheap music players and other non-amusing brands have already emerged in the market to cater to consumers who are on a restrictive budget.

Have you heard of the latest addition to the iPod family -- also known as the iPod Shuffle? This happens to be designed to cater to active people who would want to drown out the city's hustle and bustle sound. Designed to be as small as a key or a lighter, you could personalize it by engraving your name on it. The iPod Shuffle is indeed small but amazingly packs a 4GB worth of storage for the 960-ish songs you can think of.

Choose the best style and storage capacity being offered by Apple iPod to allow you to really showcase your personality and music preference. There are colorful variations of the old Shuffle or you could just head to the mall and have it decorated with a new skin. Keep in mind that whenever you listen to your iPod's play list, keep the volume down. This could interfere with your hearing and when you drive or even cross the street. - 18758

How to Buy a Guitar

By Matthew James

It is a difficult task to buy a guitar especially if there are wide options to choose from. Knowing the right features and the style of your choice can give you a definite idea on how to buy a guitar that suits your personality. The different guitar available in the market is a factor for many guitar enthusiasts to be confused in buying the right guitar for them thus, ending with not being able to produce a good decision in buying one. As a beginner, it is frustrating to have different options for a single guitar and not knowing how to find the right one for you.

Never underestimate the aesthetic value of a guitar. You want to feel proud of your instrument. A well crafted guitar is beautiful piece of art. Some collectors hang their guitars on walls like paintings. Moreover, pick it up and play it. If it doesnt feel right straight away move on. Is the neck too thin or is it too fat? Can you get your fingers up to the higher frets comfortably? Are the frets too large or two small? Basically, does the guitar feel right for you?

Glued on necks are the next most robust guitar neck and many guitars are made with glued on necks. The bolt on neck is the least robust and can allow for sideways movement of the neck if the bolts loosen. So if buying a bolt on neck guitar ensure that the neck is straight not twisted and there is no sideways movement in the neck. Fender guitars have bolt on necks.

you are purchasing an electric guitar you should always plug it into an amplifier and check that the electronics are working correctly. You should be able to tell immediately if there is any excess hum or noisy pickups. Often on used guitars the earth wire breaks on the pickups and you get that low 50 Hz hum. This can be easily fixed.

Quality guitars are made from quality wood. Ask the seller what wood the guitar you are interested in purchasing is made from. Cheap no name guitars use cheap wood and dont advertise the type, so the dealer may not know if you are spending $200 on a cheapie. Gibson Les Pauls are made from mahogany, with a rosewood or ivory fret board. Fender Stratocasters are made from ash or alder with a maple neck and sometimes a rosewood fret board. Good acoustic guitars are usually made from mahogany with a spruce top, maple neck and rosewood fret board.

Learning to play the guitar is relatively easy but as you can see buying on is not. Make sure you are very thorough when you purchase a guitar. Purchasing a substandard guitar will lead to the production of bad sounding music. You don't need to spend a fortune on a good guitar but don't go cheap either. A quality product will produce a quality sound. - 18758
