The Internet: Your new piano school

By Lynn Lopez

Learning how to play the piano has traditionally taken place in music schools on one's town or within one's home with the aid and instruction of a music teacher. This traditional method requires time, a lot of money, and the pressure to comply with the instructor's lessons and expectations. The same is true with learning, well, practically anything. Yet thanks to the Internet's seemingly permanent status as a veritable gold mine of information, the traditional method is being severely shaken up. Practically anything can be obtained from the Internet these days: how-tos on arts and crafts, recipes, tutorials on everything under the sun, including, yes, learning how to plan the piano.

Indeed, learning to play piano online has become a common recourse for anyone with a fervent wish to become an accomplished pianist--or at least anyone who wants to learn the basics--yet do not have the time and money to learn to play piano the traditional way.

Learning to play piano online is an entirely different experience from attending a weekly lesson. For one thing, you won't have an instructor to guide you along the way, so you'll be working on your own drive and steam. What you need first and foremost to learn to play piano online is a lot of discipline; you need the same trait when studying the piano traditionally, but more so when studying online, because you'll essentially just be teaching yourself, so you will really need to focus every time you sit down and study.

In your effort to learn to play piano online, you should do your research in order to make use of the best materials available to you. Start by looking up free online piano lessons; these will just require your time and effort, and will be greatly helpful to you if you're working with a tight budget. Some basic courses are available for free, while other more advanced classes may require some fees. There are basic lessons available for adults as well as children, so you can easily find a course that suits you. Such courses come with audio instructions and even video clips as well to better illustrate the points of each lesson.

Because you can learn to play piano online, it's clear that it's never too late for you to learn piano no matter how old you are. Just find the most suitable lessons for you, make the time to learn, and really throw yourself into every lesson to get the most out of each online piano course. - 18758

By Mike Duke

Another town, another place! After all the boxes have been unpacked and the fridge has been stocked, it is time to accessorize your new home. The surrealistic paintings, metal wall art and African masks have all found a spot, yet despite all the planning, the area above the fireplace is still bare. You realize that finding another pleasing canvas may take time and money, something you really cant spare right now.

Expanding our horizons, and drifting away from extravagant wall art, we will soon realize that there are other and less costly ways to accessories our home or office decor. Browsing through virtual and real-life poster stores, bumping into kids and seniors, we will soon fall in love with these sturdy, artistic pieces of laminated materials that have been displayed by size, topic and shape.

Posters can be mass produced or personalized, and because of the wide selection of topics they represent, they can tickle just about anyones fancy. Even the fervent collector could probably find a suitable poster, regardless if he is fanatic about old cars, airplanes, Disney or Audrey Hepburn.

Companies such as posterworld.com.au offer a totally personalized service, which includes laminating at prices that will rock your world. These manufacturers are known worldwide for their premium quality matt or glossy laminate products and their door poster collection boasts of being one of the largest available within Australia.

From personal to industrial use, posters have paved the advertising way for many businesses. Colorful, loaded with fine art, slogans, logos and catchy phrases, posters are an effective and inexpensive way to introduce products, services, events, charity functions, celebrities and ideas to the world. They can also be part of a political campaign. Posters used for outdoor use can be reinforced and are water resistant.

Art can be defined as a product of human creativity. There is no limit to forms, shapes and sizes. Posters are also referred to as placards, or wall stickers, and can be viewed as a kind of art as well. Famous artists have spent hours creating the perfect photographs, drawing incredible pictures, or composing unbelievable designs by strategically merging text and images. That is art indeed!

It would be virtually impossible to list all the varieties of posters that have flooded the market by now. We can certainly mention a few, starting with those used in classroom settings. These samples educate and motivate students of all ages, from the alphabet to the periodic table of elements. Posters are also used as artwork reproductions and have been known to brighten up many childrens rooms. On the other side, posters can also be used to communicate. It would not be the first time propagandists and protestors relied on posters to boldly display their political messages and shake the community.

How to display or preserve a private poster collection is up to the owner. Some people do not really care and just pin their price possessions to the wall, while others cover them with a glass sheet or slide their prints in double-stitched, clear vinyl sleeves. Those who want long-lasting enjoyment from their assets will completely frame them, while the extremist may present his vintage beer poster in a fluorescent display unit. Whatever way these poster lovers choose, they all have one thing in common... they truly understand that posters can really make a difference! - 18758

I-Pods And Their Versatility In Displaying Media

By Cauldwell Pipps

The I-Pod has changed the way in which millions of people listen to music. The Cd's that can now almost be called old fashioned are being slowly pushed aside by the mp3 music download.

Though Cd's are still selling in the millions every week, for the most part they will be used once (to put the contents onto ones I-pod) and then will spend the rest of its life as a drinks coaster or simply a redundant disk cluttering up space.

There were other models of mp3 player before the I-pod, however they were never as universally popular with the music listening populace, which makes up most of the population of the world.

You could argue that the reason for this is that the I-pod has better functionality and a far more user-friendly interface than other mp3 players that came previously. I would say that this a fair argument to make.

The early mp3 players tended to be smaller and only had a small screen which couldn't fit a great deal of information on it, Whereas the I-pod has a far bigger screen and so is able to list tracks in a much more effective way.

The I-pod also had a touch pad which was something that not too many people had used before, and so that made it exciting and almost futuristic to use and to have.

Another selling point for the I-pod is its versatility. Not only does it play music, but also videos, pictures and even games on the newer versions.

So to create fantastic ways to pass time when its refusing to pass quickly enough, or just for background music when carrying out tasks, the I-pod is the all-in-one accessory of the decade. - 18758

Taylor Swift's Rise To The Top

By Cindy Lou Jackson

Taylor Allison Swift was born in the little burg of Wyomissing in Pennsylvania. She was born in December, the 13th to be exact, of the year 1989. She was largely influenced in music by her grandmother, who was an opera singer. She also love country music as a little girl.

Taylor's family made a lot of sacrifices to help her get her foot in the door and try to get her a start somewhere in Nashville. They made many trips to Nashville to try to meet with people and to help Taylor gain exposure.

She started singing publicly at the age of ten years old and then started writing her own material around the age of 12. That is pretty spectacular and quite unusual for a person to develop their ambitions at such a young age. She definitely saw a vision of her future and worked hard to make it happen.

Taylor was the youngest person ever signed, at the age of 14, to be signed to a publishing contract. Her family then made the move to Hendersonville, TN just outside of Nashville to allow her access to insiders. During this period, Taylor wrote her first hit while sitting in her freshman math class. One wonders what would have transpired if she had any interest in math.

Taylor got her big break when she came to the attention of Scott Borchetta, who signed her to his label Big Machine Records. She released her debut album in November in the year 2006 to rave reviews. It would go on to sell over 2 million copies and ensuring her sophomore album's production.

As if all of those other firsts weren't enough, Taylor became the first female solo artist who has had a hand in writing every single song on her debut album. Amazing for anyone, but especially amazing given her age of 16.

Taylor kept up the whirlwind pace by touring with Brad Paisley and most recently, Rascal Flatts. She is also expected to headline some of her own shows in 2009. Taylor is a dynamic live performer and has received rave reviews in many cities.

With Taylor's astonishing talent and ambition she will be an exciting artist to watch for many years to come. It wouldn't be imprudent to suggest that she has many more heights to reach in her young career. - 18758
