Movie Download Services Offer Convenience

By Lenore Allison

Movie lovers have every reason to rejoice at today's Internet technology. Access to movie download services that allow consumers to rent or buy movies is the ultimate convenience for someone who loves watching films.

These days movie download subscriptions make it possible to watch films over the Internet or download them to computers. Some movie download sites even allow users to burn DVDs with backup copies.

Most movie download subscription sites work in similar ways. Users sign up for an online account, select a subscription level, agree to the site's terms of use, and submit credit card information to pay a rental fee, usually on a monthly basis.

No matter what kind of "shopping cart" or e-commerce software a site employs, all are encrypted to protect the user's personal financial data from unauthorized viewing.

Instructional videos different from site to site, but the majority of online vendors have some guidelines for how to download movies. In most cases the user logs in, looks through various movie categories, and chooses something to watch, either by a download or online. All sites use various kinds of "shopping cart software to handle the payment by credit card. This software encrypts financial information to kept it secure from unauthorized use.

In most instances, when a user logs in he or she can look through an online database of selections that are grouped according to movie genre, such as comedy, drama, foreign, etc. The user then selects a film to watch, either via Internet streaming or by download. The user logs in, looks through various movie categories, and chooses something to watch, either by a download or online.

Since the process of movie downloads seems so common, how does a user decide on a site for subscription? The answer is three priorities: movie selection, picture quality and computer platform.

Site selection can be a different story. Movie download sites have to contract with studios for digital distribution rights. Sites with lots of subscribers can pay the studios' high fees, and can offer movie of their films. Some sites offer only movies for which the copyright has lapsed into the public domain.

Picture quality is the ultimate test for many movie lovers. The way to judge picture quality is by two measurements: bitrate and resolution. Bitrate measures how fast a digital file will download or stream and is measured as "bits per second" (bps). Resolution measures the number of pixels in the image. With either measurement, a higher number ensures a better quality of picture.

Many film buffs make picture quality their top priority. As much as possible, they want to see the film as the director and cinematographer intended. That's where two measurements come in: resolution, which counts the number of pixels the image takes up on the computer screen, and bitrate, which like a speedometer clocks how fast a digital file will stream or download. When an online movie has a high number for either or both of these measures, it's likely to have excellent picture quality.

Whatever their top priority is for a movie download site, users should thoroughly read the terms and conditions under which the site operates. Violations of those terms aren't merely inconvenient; they could be illegal, which is a whole lot of trouble just to get a pirated video. - 18758

Barrier: Fascinating view of young demeanors in Poland, combining reportage with fantasy factors. Not a total prosperity, however still intriguing. Cast includes Joanna Szczerbic, Jan Nowicki, Tadeusz Lomnicki, and Maria Malicka. (84 minutes, 1966)

Kill or Be Killed: Karate champions lock limbs as ex-Nazi tutor desires reprisal contrary to Japanese counterpart who bested him in a contest throughout WW2. To find downloads for music or games, try phrases like "Video Rentals". Not all searches get the right result. If the first one fails to work out try another one. "Watch DVDs Online" would be worth a try. - 18758

Xbox 360's Newest: Mass Effect 2

By Taylor Sanders

Xbox 360 had its first incarnation of Mass Effect in 2007, said to be the best of its kind in games' history, and when players finished this game, they wanted to keep going. This particular game had a great ending, and it also had some of the best characters most of us who played Mass Effect had ever seen. They were multidimensional, and were so real that they stayed in your mind long after the game was complete. Games like Mass Effect have in fact put Xbox 360 firmly in the lead as far as sales went, and Mass Effect earned a lot of money for Bioware.

If you've played the first incarnation, Mass Effect, on Xbox in recent years, you probably still have the game saved. However, if you had this game, loved it, and deleted it, it's going to make you a little bit sad to know that you're going to missing out on something pretty amazing, indeed.

That's because if you saved the first Mass Effect file, keep it until early next year, because that's when the Xbox 360's Mass Effect 2 is going to be released. With this, you can import your character saved game from Mass Effect; that will mean you start Mass Effect 2 at exactly the same place you left off.

That is not what the big deal is about. The big deal is that your character's moral standing and all the choices you have made in the first Mass Effect carries over to the second game. Your choices affect the second game, and with your saved file you will get the impression of one lengthy experience.

Have you seen the teaser trailer for Mass Effect 2? You probably remember when the credits rolled at the end of the first Mass Effect. In the trailer, though, we get a close-up of a familiar armor suit, with "N7" emblazoned on the chest. Ah-ha, it's Shepherd, the main character.

Oops, no, it's not. Instead, a Geth soldier is wearing the suit, and we find out that Shepherd was killed in action. However, as the saying goes, "accounts of Shepherd's death were greatly exaggerated," and he's right back in Mass Effect 2, facing an entirely new threat.

What's good to know about Mass Effect 2? Well, there are multiple endings, as in the first Mass Effect. This time, your primary mission is a suicide mission, which you will be told about at the beginning of the game. Shepherd and his team know this, too.

You and your entire team can die or you can live. This all depends on the decisions you make throughout the game, and these decisions decide your outcome. However, if your character dies in Mass Effect 2, his death is permanent, which means you will be able to play him Mass Effect 3. - 18758

Learning Guitar Notes

By Simon Mourrain

One of the first things to do when learning how to play the guitar is to recognize the notes. Learning guitar notes is not something you can do overnight, you need time and practice. The fret board of a guitar is where they are played. There is no need to be itimidated by the fret board. Learning guitar notes is an important chapter in guitar playing, even if it looks tough keep practicing.

You have to understand the notes from the first string, then it will be easier to perform songs. On this string, there are three notes - E, F (first fret), and G (third fret). The second string is B, C (first fret), and D (third fret). You are now ready to practice. Slowly play these notes and make sure that you concentrate to learn them well.

A good way to learn is to exercise on easy melodies. You must be able to identify the notes as well as their names and sounds.

After learning the notes on the first two strings, you have to continue on the third string. G is the open string and the other note is A (second fret). When you identify these notes, start playing them together with the ones you've learned previously. Again, you have to stick with simple melodies. The secret is to focus on one note at the time. Even little kids can learn guitar notes easily. Follow these steps and in no time, you can play them on your guitar.

Learning guitar notes will be very tricky if you don't have your own guitar. You can't depend entirely on the music sheets that you have. You must hear them being played on the guitar's fret board. Numerous learners fail to learn for the reason that they don't have guitars on their hands. If you recognize how to read guitar sheets you can read more advanced songs.

Using easy melodies, such as nursery rhymes that you learned as a child, will make the process of learning guitar notes easier and faster. Once you master and memorize them, you can play the melodies that you like.

Guitar notes are not really tricky to study as long as you know what to do. You don't need an expert teacher in order to study these things. You can study by yourself using DVD programs or internet guitar programs. You can also use an instruction book. However if you do not like studying alone and prefer having a teacher that is totally fine. But bear in mind that if you do not have a positive attitude, hiring a teacher will not make any difference.

Learning guitar notes can be compared to a school lesson. The objective for you is to understand them by heart, so you can concentrate on other aspects of the guitar studying process. It is no secret that practice makes perfect. It is up to you to find a way to have fun while learning. - 18758
