Uli Jon Roth - Scorpions Guitarist Bio

By Nathan Spencer

Uli Jon Roth, who is a German guitarist, was born on the 18th of December 1954. He has made a huge contribution to the field of neo-classical metal music. Roth, along with some other members, had formed a band entitled Dawn Road towards the beginning of the 1970s. In 1973 the Scorpions separated owing to Michael Schenker who had left it to join the UFO. Klaus Meine and Rudolf Schenker , the other existing members of Scorpions, combined with the members of Dawn Road to form a very strong group. The name of this group was changed to Scorpions since is had become quite popular during those years. Thus Uli Jon Roth became the Scorpions guitarist.

Four albums were released by Scorpion during the years 1974 and 1977 in which Roth played the role of main songwriter, occasional lead singer and of course the lead guitarist. One of the best selling live albums of the Scorpions, Tokyo Tapes, was recorded in 1978, in Japan. Roth had however left the band before the release of the album. Electric Sun, Roth's very own band was formed and three albums were released. The first album was released in the year 1979. It was entitled Earthquake and was dedicated to Jimi Hendrix. The other albums were Fire Wind, released in 1981, and Beyond the Astral Skies in 1985. They were dedicated to Anwar el-Sadat and Martin Luther King respectively.

Roth, later on, composed four symphonies and two concertos and had even performed with some symphony orchestras all through Europe. Henceforth the name 'Uli John Roth' was used by him for all his concerts and album releases. Roth had even played for Castle Donington, which happens to be an outdoor rock festival, in the year 2001. This later got released on DVDs. Roth, along with the Scorpions, featured in a concert in 2006 at Wacken Open Air Festival. It had become a great success and was named as "A Night To Remember, A Journey Through Time".

Roth is the founder of the Sky Academy and the creator of the Sky Guitar. These are in fact the best rock guitars for beginners. He had particularly made custom guitars which had additional frets. Roth had five of these kinds of guitars which had been used by the guitarist of Fair Warning and were made by a person of British origin. One was made with 36 frets, and the other had 42 while the third was fretless. Beyond the Astral Skies is the album in which the fretless guitar was used. - 18758

Where To Look For The Best XBOX Games

By Larry Moon

When the Xbox 360 came out, the console probably came with a couple of games for you to play. However, these games usually only last the average gamer about 2-3 weeks before going out and buying a game that they want. When you went to buy your console, it probably put a sizeable dent in your pocket book making it hard to immediately buy a new game.

Asking for more means that you are willing to pay for more games and since these games can reach prices of up to 70 dollars, it is important that your money goes on the best Xbox 360 games that will not disappoint you a single bit. Finding the best Xbox 360 games only requires a little bit of work both offline and online.

You will have to do your research in a variety of different ways. Some of the research you will do can be out on your own checking some of the stores you bought the console from, or electronics stores that sell the games. You also will be doing some online research to help ensure you get what you are looking for.

Some stores love to convince buyers by adding "Best seller" tags or something similar. Older games may still be found on the shelves having special labels like "Best Game of the Year" indicating that the game achieved awards in the past. As long as these labels are part of the box art, these claims are true and should be worth the purchase.

Doing online research is fun and can be done in the confines of your home. One of the best places for you to go online is www.xbox.com. On the Xbox website you will be able to see video's on most Microsoft games that are listed on the site, which will give you an idea about the actual game play. It's seems that searching online is a bit easier than the store, because most stores do not have a way to test the game out. If you want to copy xbox 360 games try it out here.

One of the nice benefits of the Xbox website is having the ability to check out Xbox Live while you are on there. Most all of the Xbox Live games that you can choose from are easily downloadable and usually take minimal time to do. These games are usually much cheaper that normal Xbox games, so if you are looking for a more economically sound game for you money check these out.

Another great place to find these games is by searching online for game review sites. Two of the most popular gaming review sites are Gamespot and IGN. Although you might find different opinions on certain games, these two sites are the best sources and fairly review games. If you see a game that has received a high score, it is most definitely worth the purchase. If you are not into reading multipage reviews you can always watch more convincing video reviews instead.

The objective to this process and by doing these things is for you not only to save money but to be able to get more bang for you buck. Just make sure that before you buy a game, to do a bit of research before hand and you will see that you are not wasting your money. - 18758

The New Beatles Box Sets Are A "Must Buy" For All Serious Beatles Fans

By Laurence Henry Hanson

If you're like most Beatles fans then you probably already own their albums on CD and you may be wondering "Why should I buy them all again just because they are being released as part of a box set?"

The most important thing to note is that the new remastered Beatles CDs that are included in these new mono & stereo box sets are not like the Beatles CDs you own now.

The most obvious difference between the CDs you own now and the new remastered CDs can be heard in The Beatles Mono Box Set which includes The Beatles albums in their original mono for the first time on CD.

These mono mixes should be of great interest to any real Beatles fan because these are the mixes that The Beatles originally intended for their fans to hear back in the 1960s.

Why is that? In the 1960s almost everyone listened to their LPs on a mono playback system so stereo was mostly ignored and most of the time and energy of The Beatles and their production team was spent on perfecting the mono mixes of their awesome albums.

At the time The Beatles considered the mono mixes of their albums to be the "real versions" and there have been many claims over the years that these original mono mixes sound superior to the stereo mixes we've had on CD for the last 22 years (since they were released on CD in 1987.)

So I think that pretty much explains why the mono box set is such a "must buy" for all serious Beatles fans, but what about the stereo CDs? Why should Beatles fans buy The Beatles albums on CD again? Quite simply, these new CDs are in newly remastered stereo.

That means that these new stereo CDs sound much better than the CDs first released in 1987. They will allow listeners to hear new details in The Beatles music that have been hidden for many years! - 18758
