Singing Tips That Will Take You To The Top

By Brian Styden

I personally cannot think of a better way to share yourself to others then through singing. You use your voice almost every minute of every day for everything. But genuinely opening up and singing is not only enjoyable but a lovely art form. Be aware that this does take patience and practice. Your voice is your instrument. So let's go over some singing tips.

I come from the camp that believes we all can sing. There unquestionably are those out there that have an incredible god given talent for singing but with some effort you too can get pleasure from singing. Just bear in mind that we need to work at it and exercise the voice like any other instrument.

The voice needs to be worked and exercised like any other part of your body you would want stronger. So get set for some vocal stretching, voice warm ups and even some cool downs.

The easiest and most perfect exercise to limber up or cool down is to softly hum. You can hum anytime and you should do it all the time. This really wakes up the chords and gives them a good warm buzz. Everyone knows how to hum but there is a correct way. Go slow and easy, at a soft volume, using Mmm or Nnn. There should be no strain in your neck or throat. Our aim is a gentle and easy hum.

Next we will practice these hums with actual scales going in both directions up and down. If you get too high and your buzz cracks, pause. Don't look to push it up there. Just go back down the scale easy and smooth. Great singers do not push, we should never force a note out. There is no need to tense up your neck or throat. Remember it will take time to develop your voice.

So how can we sing without tightness? Well with proper breath support. Breathing is a critical part of becoming a skillful singer. You truly need to learn about your diaphragm and how to breath from it. This is the muscle that essentially pulls air into your lungs. I'm sure you had hiccups before, well the diaphragm is the culprit here.

I use the monkey "ooh ooh" for this. Try that or use the "hut hut" like a football player. If you do this accurately you should feel the pressure from just underneath your ribs. Occasionally you hear people say "sing from your belly" this is what they actually mean. Linking this muscle to your vocal flow can take practice and training but when you do your voice will flow incredibly.

Don't ever stop vocal training without cooling down with at least a few more gentle hums. If you serious about singing you will realize that this takes continuous work. Be aware of what you are putting into your body. Particular foods like dairy or spicy foods are terrible for your vocal chords. Keeping tabs on your speaking volume is important as well. We don't want to blow out our voice.

Learning to sing takes practice and time. It is a 24 hour a day job to manage your talking, eating, and exercises. The benefits you will get back absolutely make it worth it. Nothing can compare to letting your voice loose for all to hear and love! There is no way to go over everything one needs to develop into a great singer in one piece of writing but I hope these singing tips help you on your way. - 18758

I personally cannot think of a better way to share yourself to others then through singing. Your voice is used for everything and we use it continuously. But really opening up and singing is not only enjoyable but a lovely art form. This does take some practice and proper building.

You need to take care of and work out your vocals like any other muscle you would want stronger. That being said we also need to loosen up, stretch and cool down your voice after extended use.

The easiest and most perfect exercise to limber up or cool down is to lightly hum. You should do hums regularly. The buzzing thoroughly warms up the chords nicely and gets them lubricated. Now I know I don't need to teach you how to hum but there is a correct way. Soft and comfortable with an M sound or even N hum. There should never be any stress or tightness in your throat or neck. Our goal is a gentle and easy hum.

Next we will practice these hums with actual scales going in both directions up and down. If you get too high and your buzz cracks, stop. Don't look to force it up there. Just relax and move back down the scale nice and relaxed. Great singers do not force, we should never force a note out. Again we are keeping our throat and neck relaxed, never tight and forcing. Have patience, it does take time and practice to develop your voice.

So how can we sing without tension? Well with proper breath support. Breathing is a very important part of the process. You really need to learn about your diaphragm and how to breath from it. This is the muscle that regulates breathing. When the diaphragm gets confused the worst feeling in the world starts, hiccups.

I use the monkey "ooh ooh" for this. Try that or use the "hut hut" like a football player. If you do this accurately you should feel the pressure from just underneath your ribs. Occasionally you hear people say "sing from your belly" this is what they actually mean. Be aware of what you are putting into your body. Particular foods like dairy or spicy foods are terrible for your vocal chords. Keeping tabs on your speaking volume is important as well. We don't want to blow out our voice.

As with anything in life singing takes devotion, work, and time. It becomes a twenty four hour job that requires a special diet and practice. None of this matters when you start to hear the pay off. There is nothing quite like singing your feelings out loud for all to hear! There is no way to go over everything one requires to develop into a great singer in one article but I hope these singing tips help you on your way. - 18758

Instrumental Music 2.0 (Fascinating and Beautiful Sounds)

By Pablo Perez

The following report should be received as a testimony, not as doctrine or principle. God is creative and does with each person as He desires. You will not find Instrumental Music 2.0 by trying to imitate a particular experience, but rather by encountering the Fountain of Living Waters... God.

ENTERING THE SUPERNATURAL

There is a door that separates the natural realm from the realm of the Spirit. This door was very real for the apostle John (Rev. 4:1-2). He looked and saw an open door in the heavens, and a voice said unto him, "come up here". Like if God was saying, "Down there you are not going to be able to see anything, you need to come up here; you have to pass through the door and enter into My world."

John, before this experience heard Jesus say, 'I am the door...' (Jn. 10:9), but now, he could understand the magnitude of what the Master had said.

When John passed through the door, he left the world of reason and entered the world of the Spirit... He left the natural in order to enter the supernatural. In the twinkling of an eye, John found himself before the throne of God and beheld the worship of heaven. Was this experience just for John? Of course not...

ENCOUNTERING THE POWER OF INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC 2.0

It is not easy to describe it, but while I am ministering to the Lord with the piano (during a corporate worship service or in my personal devotions), there are moments in which He opens a door in the realm of the Spirit and invites me to come up.

Upon passing through the door... it is no longer I following Him, but rather He carries me. The harmony and the melody begin to flow with an indescribable freshness, difficult to express.

It is like a powerful river of which I am in the middle and its current takes me wherever it wants. It is like extending my wings and flying impulsively on the wind without limits or pressure, in perfect liberty.

SOARING IN THE POWER OF THE SPIRIT

The Scriptures declare: "Those who wait upon the Lord will rise up wings like eagles."(Is.40:31). The eagle extends its wings and surrenders itself to the power of the wind, at high levels, where the air currents are very strong. She moves its wings to reach the level of the current, but when it gets there, it extends its wings and allows the wind to propel it along.

In this way, the eagle arrives to heights that could not be reached otherwise. Something similar happens in the realm of the Spirit...

I can extend my wings and surrender myself to the wind of the Holy Spirit without any effort because it is He who moves me. In doing so... the harmony reaches new heights and then descends majestically. After descending, many times the music will begin to intensify (in crescendo) again, gaining more strength and power in proportion to the increase of the Spirit.

It is as if the Lord (above all, in services of corporate worship) wraps up all those present in His wings, lifting them to new heights of the glory of God. This instrumental music becomes inexpressible, powerful, majestic, and glorious.

At other times, it is as if the Cloud rests upon a chord, giving it sharpness and depth and bringing a holy silence to the place. Then He begins to descend like sweet dew, full of the presence of God. (Ps. 133:3). The music flows and tenderizes the hearts of the people, preparing the ground so that the seed of life will fall on good earth. As the book of Numbers declares: 'And when the dew fell on the camp in the night, the manna fell on it' (Num. 11:9). When the dew of His presence drenches the human heart, then it is ready to receive divine nourishment- the Word of God.

This powerful heavenly music finds different expressions through every prophetic musician. What I've shared it's just the testimony of my own experience-which is just a drop in a big ocean...

It takes all of us to express the fullness and richness of this heavenly sound. - 18758

IMRadio Introduces New Bands

By Katy Canto

I pretended playing my toy guitar along with videos on MTV since I was a kid and I have dreamed of having my tunes heard on the radio. But it can be pretty difficult to get air time, even if you're a really good band.

The band that I formed five years ago has been lucky enough to be played on some local stations. Well, luck is not the right word. We did work real hard to meet the right people who got us on air. You can call that real challenge.

It is really unfortunate for new artists knowing that radio stations do not put unknowns to their rotation most of the time, which is why now new bands face a great challenge in having their songs at least heard. The bands that you hear on the radio are not necessarily the most talented. Most of the time, they are ones with the most financial back-up and marketing efforts.

One of the most awesome resources I have found online is IMRadio. This web site says that it is by musicians, for musicians, and it really is. Some of our song files are now receiving free radio airplay in more than 100 countries when I registered an account and uploaded them into IMRadio's rotation.

As a music lover, I like being able to hear other new artists, and appreciate their talent. Aside from that, poets and comedians are heard on IMRadio. Then I recommended IMRadio to some of the acts that I usually see around town, particularly the clubs and it is nice to see a following build up for IMRadio.

My band has a growing fan base now and I am became more excited to see that my band was given the chance to be heard. IMRadio has a message forum, giving the bands and their fans a communication venue as well for the bands to communicate with other bands.

If you see yourself as a budding musician or has a band that has been around for quite a while, IMRadio can boost you up and your band's spirit and talent. You will not feel any bit of difficulty in joining, uploading your song files, have your music into rotation, and be heard.

And if you are a music lover, be sure to stop by IMRadio and join. The talented groups will really amaze you. - 18758
